Back to Chiquito Pass-NoPass. How did the barbed wire get here? From here it is only half mile back to the trailhead.
We hiked 45 miles, 8 500 feet ascent, in 4 days. It was an absolutely wonderful trip. I would do it all over again any day! Paige was a great hiking buddy, finding neat camp sites and always cheerful. And the mosquitoes and the blisters and the heat, that is all forgotten!
After reaching the TH we drove for another hour or so on dirt, bumpy and confusing roads (it WAS kind of fun!) to Oakhurst, stopped for dinner in a local mexican restaurant (very busy place), and headed home. I got home just after midnight, taking the wrong exit on the way. What a day - started at Upper Ottoway and ended up taking shower at home!
Poslední míle do cíle. Nakonec jsme za 4 dny ušly 75 kilometrů s převýšením 2 500 metrů. Ještě nás čeká vzrušující jízda po lesních cestách zpátky k silnici, večeře v městečku, a dlouhá cesta domů. Domů dorážím o půlnoci. Sprcha a postel, jaká krása. Ráno Larry vstává v 6 na cestu do Los Angeles, probudím se a rozhodnu se jet s ním. Vracíme se v neděli večer a konečně začínám rozbalovat po cestě.
