The trip had quite an exciting beginning.
Barbara picked Paige and me early in the morning, and we got to the ranger's station with time to spare, but the station was overrun with people. As I remembered from two weeks earlier, Crane Flat has the slowest computer connection (and only one computer), and the permit issuing process itself is not designed in a very efficient way. So we rushed to Tuolumne, not able to connect with the ranger station or send anyone in our group waiting at White Wolf to go ahead and get the permit. For a while it looked like we may be late and loose the permit, but in the end everything turned out fine and we were on our way, happy as a bunch of clams. We hated the idea that could have had split so that at least few people get to do the trip.
After all this excitement walking down the beautiful meadow and looking at Cathedral Range felt incredibly good.
Díky byrokratickým nástrahám jsme málem zůstali namydlení, jak říkává má moudrá maminka. Měli jsme celé měsíce rezervaci pro osm, pak jsme o ni málem přišli, a když jsme už propadali zoufalství, smilovali se nad námi a mohli jsme jít. Tím víc jsme si cenili, že můžeme kráčet přes louku Tuolumne a před námi leží tři úžasné dny.
