Day 3. We started at Thousand Island Lake on a very calm and warm morning. I took an early swim (the lake is colder than I expected). We had a late start, but a short hike, so why not enjoy it. We passed smaller Emerald Lake and Ruby Lakes, both very pretty. Ruby Lake had some amazing colors. Garnet Lake reminded me of Thousand Island Lake, and would be a nice camping place, too. We had lunch at a footbridge at the end of the lake. From there we climbed up little bit, and then descended for long time. The Minarets started showing up on a horizont. The trees changed as we were getting lower. Finally we reached Ediza Creek, and hurried away to avoid mosquitoes. We passed some neat waterfalls and found a legal camp site not far from Ediza Lake. It turned out to be quite popular (we ended up with neighbors), but nice. I found another campsite on the other side of the river. Not as nice views, but a nice less crowded alternative.
